Thirteen years ago Rhea Alexander, founder of DIGS, traveled to Cairo, Egypt to design and facilitate a workshop for local artisans. Through this training the local artisans have learned to use marble and stone by-product from the building industry for their work. The Egyptian artisans hand-carve this lucrative stone following their ancient traditions. By using by–product, through fair trade training and exchange, DIGS’ long-term commitment to these local artisans has improved their quality of life. It has also helped build successful small businesses with ecological and sustainable ideas at their heart, not to mention beautiful stone pieces, each unique.

Stone is a natural material with inherent cracks, fossils and veins; This is its beauty we celebrate. Every piece is unique and not considered flawed and therefore not returnable because of particular unique markings in the stone bath accessories .
